ACIL-WA There are seven Independent Living Centers in Washington State and around 500 nationwide. In Washington, all of the centers belong to an organization (501 C 3 pending) called ACIL-WA, Association of Centers for Independent Living in Washington. The seven centers are setting state-wide standards for best practices in CILs and collaborating on projects to strengthen the independent living movement in Washington State. We work closely with another organization, SILC, the State Independent Living Council, to develop a State Independent Living Plan.
